Nancy is the Communities First Training Officer,
based at the College Rhymney. The College not
only provides learning opportunities in the college
itself, but also in community settings. In Deri these
include Deri Library, St Peter’s Church and soon
there will be opportunities in Deri Community Centre.

Gavo Training Officers
Jan Billinghurst & Val Jackson
Val Jackson and Jan Billinghurst are Communities First Training Officers employed by GAVO. They offer a diverse range of training by means of a published training brochure which is distributed across the borough. the training includes, for example, Food Hygiene, First Aid , Project Planning, Dealing with Agressive behaviour.
The training officers also write and deliver training packages specific to the needs of partnership boards and community groups. The training officers work in partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council, WEA and Ystrad Mynach College to provide life long learning opportunities across the borough.'
